RECAP: 2015 AAU EASTER CLASSIC

The Easter Bunny has the left the building…and so have the 280 boys’ basketball teams that participated in the AAU Easter Classic this past weekend in Orlando, FL! To accommodate the amount of teams competing, the event was spread out between the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex, Orlando Sports Center, Silver Spurs Arena and Osceola Heritage Park. Twenty-three different age divisions, ranging from 9U – 19U, were present at this tournament and they gave it their all to try to bring home the gold.

The Easter Classic was a Super Regional event, meaning the top four teams in each age division received an unconditional bid to the 2015 AAU Boys Basketball National Championships. Don’t forget: teams that received the bid MUST play in their District Qualifying Tournament to validate the bid. The top two teams in each age division were also awarded a team trophy and individual medals. You can see the list of champions below. To see full results from the AAU Easter Classic, CLICK HERE.

There were 23 different teams from Puerto Rico at this tournament and four of them were able to bring home gold: Puerto Rico Stars (10U DII/DIII), Pumas Elite (13U DI), Puerto Rico Stars (14U DII) and the Ponce Lions (15UDIII). We love seeing teams traveling such a great distance to attend our events! The Brevard Bulls and Lake Nona Kings also had two teams grab gold in this event, the Bulls in 11U DII and 17U DII and the Kings in 11U DIII and 12U DIII.
