OBITUARY
Ronald E. Hall, Sr. was born September 4, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert Elmer and Gladys Thomas Hall. He left his earthly home and was created anew on June 1, 2016.

Ron is survived by his adoring mother, Gladys; devoted wife of over 41 years, Ann Durel Hall; and four loving sons – Ronald Jr. (Paula), Kahn (Glenda), Roman (Christian) and Erik (Jacqueline). He is preceded in death by his father, Robert; sister, Mary Hanners Watkins; and brother, Marcellus Hall. He was a grandfather to nine children: Khalil, Jasmine, Kendall, Erik II, Aaron, Mia, Kamerin, Elise, and Roman II. He has been a dear brother-in-law to Arnold Durel (Kathleen) of Laguna Nigel, CA; loving uncle to Leslie Hall Redmon (Roderick) of Nashville, TN; and beloved by a host of family members and friends.

Ron was a generous philanthropist to numerous civic, community, arts, youth, and sports organizations and institutions. His favorite times were enjoying Detroit professional team baseball, basketball and football games with family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling the world with his wife. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated and Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity (aka The Boulé).

Ron, an entrepreneur and a long time business and civic leader in Detroit, was Founder and President/CEO of Bridgewater Interiors with four locations and over 2000 employees. His other business ventures included Renaissance Capital Alliance, New Center Stamping, Departure Travel Management and Real Times Media. He was the recipient of numerous business awards and civic recognitions.

Ron was credited for growing the Michigan Minority Business Development Council (MMBDC) into one of the premier minority business organizations in the country. He played an active role in business and civic organizations across the State of Michigan and nationally including leadership in the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Fifth Third Bank SE Michigan, Boy Scouts of America SE Michigan, American Diabetes Association, New Detroit, Inc., the Booker T. Washington Business Association, and Detroit Renaissance. He also engaged in and supported a number of youth organizations including SE Michigan Junior Achievement and helped establish Michigan Boys Basketball Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). He was invited several times by President Barack Obama’s Administration to provide input on Small Business initiatives in America. He also served as a Board Trustee of Western Michigan University.

Ron was a graduate of Cass Technical High School, earned a BS in Mathematics from Western Michigan University an MBA from Wayne State University.
